Center For HPC In Biology And Biomedicine
From RobsWiki
Yale University, its School of Medicine, and the W.M. Keck Foundation Biotechnology Resource have joined together to form a new Center for High Performance Computation in Biology and Biomedicine that will meet the growing need to analyze and interpret the enormous amounts of data that result from several break-through technologies including microarray analysis of gene expression, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping, and high throughput mass spectrometric-based analysis of the human proteome.
The instrumentation needed to support this new Center has been funded by a $2.6 million dollar National Institutes of Health Grant which is briefly described here. The Center is open to all Yale investigators and to as many non-Yale investigators as possible. If you would like to join the Center please send your name, department, institution, title and paragraph length description of your project to kenneth.williams@yale.edu.
No sensitive information may be stored on any of the center's clusters. Please see [1] for more information.
The Center provides a number of Computational Resources.
The Center's main computational resource is Louise. Follow the link for more details.
Bulldogi, the Center's previous cluster, is being phased out during June 2011.
The Yale Center for Genome Analysis on West Campus has a new cluster Bulldogn.
ITS has a website with additional information about Yale clusters, including Bulldogi and Bulldogc http://research.yale.edu/hpc

NEWS 3/30/12 1430 We've been informed by ITS that the controller serving /ycga-ba/ba_sequencers3 has failed, and that partition is not available. The other partitions, and the home directories should be unaffected. ITS has notified the vendor of the problem. At this time we do not have an estimate for the time to repair the problem. 12/1/11 1100 BulldogN is unresponsive. We have notified ITS. 9/13/11 1500 ITS has taken BulldogN offline, due to a break in to the login node. 9/2/11 1300 Interactive qsub's to Louise's default queue are hanging. We've notified ITS.
